Sebastian Inlet Fishing Report – Sep 29, 2025 (Big Swell & Jetty Closure)
Tropical weather offshore brought 9–11 foot swells into the area over the weekend, forcing a temporary closure of the North Jetty and the park.
As of this report, the park has reopened, but the North Jetty remained closed until wave heights dropped back to safe levels. Always check with park staff or signage before heading out.
Before the swell arrived, there was some solid fishing going on around the inlet.
North Jetty
Prior to the closure, anglers were finding a good bite of snook and redfish on live shrimp, mullet, and majorra.
Spanish mackerel and lookdowns were also being caught on small jigs and spoons.
South Jetty
The south side was a bit slower once the water dirtied up, but still produced some snook and reds on live pigfish, pinfish, and mullet.
Outgoing tide action picked up some jacks and smaller bluefish as well.
Surf – North & South
Surf fishing was largely shut down due to the heavy swell and rough conditions.
Once wave heights come back down and the water clears, expect fishing to improve quickly — this is a typical pattern after large swell events.

Bait tip: After heavy swell, fresh bait makes the difference. Stop by Saltwater Cowboy Bait & Tackle for live shrimp, mullet, and cut bait before conditions settle.
