Sebastian Inlet Fishing Report – Sep 23, 2025 (Warm Water & Waiting on a Turnaround)
ENE breezes kept things comfortable this past weekend, but water quality continues to be the main challenge around Sebastian Inlet.
Dirty, silty water combined with too much freshwater on the outgoing tide — along with 84-degree water temperatures — has slowed fishing overall. There are still some finger mullet around, but predators haven’t fully committed yet.
North Jetty
A few Spanish mackerel, lookdowns, blue runners, and jacks were caught.
Snook have been scarce, with only a couple of redfish reported at the tip on the incoming tide.
South Jetty
A few snook were caught on live pinfish during the incoming tide.
Outgoing tide action was mostly catfish, puffers, blue runners, and a few bluefish.
T-Dock Area
Back areas have been very quiet due to dirty water and seaweed.
A few small snapper and mutton snapper have shown around structure, but most fish were undersized.
Surf – North & South
Surf fishing has been slow with dirty water and heavy seaweed.
A few small snapper and scattered fish have been reported, but overall action has been limited.
Once water temperatures drop into the upper 70s and clarity improves, expect a more typical fall bite to develop. In the meantime, enjoy the wildlife and stay ready — the switch can flip quickly this time of year.
